Fixing a Broken E-shop: Checkout and Bank Payments

Results

  • Checkout and bank payment links working again — the shop takes orders
  • Design refresh on the home, shop and product pages, mobile-first layout
  • Faster loading: caching and image optimization (WebP)
  • Catalogue reorganised — the client can add new products without a developer

Background

Jalaravituba (PrimaCare Ravituba OÜ) provides professional medical pedicure and foot care in Tallinn — in the clinic, at customers' homes, and on visiting sessions. Alongside the services, an online shop sells foot care products: creams, tinctures, supports and aids.

The site itself was solid and full of content — services, blog, contact. The problem was the shop: the checkout did not work and bank payment links were broken. Customers could add products to the cart but could not pay. The shop was effectively closed.

Approach

We built nothing from scratch. The existing WordPress and WooCommerce setup, the products, service pages and blog all stayed — we fixed what was broken, refreshed the look, and tidied the shop so new products are easy to add.

What we did

1. E-shop repair — first priority

  • Diagnosis: found why the checkout and bank links were failing — down to the root cause, not a patch
  • Payment integration restored: bank links (Swedbank, SEB, LHV, Coop) working again
  • Cart and checkout flow cleaned up
  • Test purchases through every payment method, until each path from cart to confirmation worked
  • Order confirmation emails checked and fixed

2. Design refresh and speed

  • Home, shop and product pages refreshed to a more current look
  • Mobile-first layout and tidied navigation — most customers arrive on a phone
  • Speed optimization: caching and image optimization (WebP)
  • Existing content, service pages and blog kept intact

3. Catalogue and range expansion

  • Catalogue structure reorganised: categories and filters
  • A workflow and template for adding new products — the client can expand the range themselves
  • Bulk product import (Excel / CSV)
  • A guide for formatting product images and descriptions

4. SEO check and launch

  • Changes tested on staging before going live
  • SEO check: titles/meta, sitemap and structured data kept intact — existing Google visibility was not affected
  • Zero-downtime go-live and a training session for the team

Outcome

The shop sells again. Customers can add products to the cart and pay by bank link, the site loads faster and looks more current, and adding new products no longer needs a developer.
